About Sören
Meet me, Sören Friis-Hansen, born in Sweden to Danish/German parents. My journey took me through a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at Linköping University, financially bolstered by works as a welder in shipyards and mechanical workshops, to business developments and sales of heavy duty equipment to heavy industries during the 90’s. In 1999 I joined my professional love-of-my-life, SWEP International AB, that I joined to aid in regaining control of their OEM-customer base and market shares.
This assignment evolved into spearheaded transformative initiatives within SWEP’s sales organisation, driving growth and profitability among the OEM’s in the HVAC-sector and crowned by the implementation and leadership of a global key account organisation.
Over time, my responsibilities expanded, leading to a membership in SWEP’s executive management team since 2004 and VP of Sales & Marketing in 2020, via stints as Director of Global Accounts and Corporate Business Development. My tenure at SWEP has been marked by strategic initiatives, the development of its sales organisation, pricing, contract management and benchmark tools that all played a vital role in scaling SWEP’s business, organisation and revenues to new heights, As my career evolved, so did my focus on long-term business development and stakeholder management and engagement. Balancing and translating the interests of SWEP and its owners, with the needs & desires of end-markets, regional & global trade organisations and other key stakeholders, I facilitated collaboration, investment and innovation aimed at advancing sustainability goals.
Driven by my wife’s job career, our family of three children moved to Amsterdam in 2014, and we quickly fell in love and got immersed in the city’s cosmopolitan vibe.
Based on a long-yearned need to spend more time with my family and challenge myself, I decided to leave SWEP after 24 years and founded Embla Consulting B.V., leveraging my expertise to assist B2B companies in the HVAC and energy sectors.
